Operational Command Software Development

request background

Experienced technology partner

Traditional methods of work in crisis situations do not always give adequate results and are associated with significant material costs and stress of the departments and services involved. Therefore, a brand-new type of operational command software solution was created. Having a very specific business, the client, a seasoned firefighter, was looking for an experienced technology partner to optimize the buggy system he had and ensure further support and maintenance. We had to develop new features and integrate them with end users’ software and hardware.

challenge

A slow buggy solution

Initial solution was slow and had a lot of bugs, it was not ready for scalability and the cloud. Real-time software was not looking as real-time, as it was working with only a few online users and there was significant delay. There was also a lack of data security, where data is sensitive and should be reliably protected.

goals

  1. Fill the gaps of existing solutions
  2. Create a unified information space
  3. Implement constant surveillance of specific places

Internal solution was used to build the basement core for the future scalability and reliability of the software. An architectural solution based on AWS cloud services for data storage and processing was chosen. We had to integrate a subsystem for connecting and processing information from digital communication devices, GPS trackers, IoT devices to the existing core configuration of a subsystem. We created a unified information space within the framework of a modular hierarchical organizational structure.

outcome

Refreshed version of a buggy solution

  • Implementation of information exchange between municipal services in the case of any threat or break of public order.
  • Development of a situational center that allowed one to create interdepartmental geographically distributed systems capable of registering, processing, storing and analyzing significant volumes of heterogeneous information.
  • A separate communication channel between organizations that take part in preventing criminal elements and coordinating public order functions.
  • Constant surveillance of administrative units, public places and places of potential threat to a society (e.g. railway stations, airports, concerts, sporting events).
  • Tools for both, real-time supervision and evidence collection for performing critical law enforcement functions if they are necessary.
  • Implementation of a controlled access to facilities, premises, restricted areas.
  • The ability to manage duty units capable of responding in the event of an emergency. Provides opportunities both for the formation of new units on duty, and for the operational management of existing ones.
